intersectionalityThroughout the majority of her formal education, Blair enjoyed pursuing two passions, her fascination with the natural world and her appetite for making art. She believes these pursuits are complimentary, and she is often inspired by the natural world in her art practice. Blair also finds the generative thinking used in the practice of art aids in appreciating and understanding the ecosystems in which she's had experience researching and working.
Feeling as though it would be dishonest to ever represent herself as one or the other, Blair explains her dual passions by comparing them to lichen. A term used to describe more a relationship than a specific organism, lichen have evolved to exist through a structure of symbiosis. |
